Believe it or not, spring is almost here and hopefully it will bring some new growth to our economy.  Now is a good time to get a foursome together and register for the Towanda Open Golf outing to be held at Turtle Creek Golf Club in Limerick, PA on Friday May 1, 2009 beginning at 1:00. Please register soon to secure your spot. After you register with Dan, send your check in the amount of $110 payable to Dan Gormley to 4110 Battles Lane, Newtown Square, PA 19073.  If you’re not a golfer or can’t make it in the afternoon, join us for the dinner at 5:00 PM for only $25.00.

On May 2, 2009, at noon, we will be having the Spring Alumni meeting at the chapter house. This year, we are beginning a new tradition at Drexel on Alumni Weekend – Blue and Gold Days. In conjunction with DIFAA and Drexel, all of the fraternities and sororities will be hosting open houses and barbeques between 2:00 and 4:00 PM on May 2 to give visiting alumni the opportunity to tour the houses along Powelton and 34^th Street.  I look forward to seeing you there.

Pi Kappa Phi Journal Article!

 On  Saturday, November 22nd - 2008,  the Alpha Upsilon chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity reached yet another historic landmark in its already illustrious legacy.  On this night, which marked the 75th Anniversary since its original founding, over 200 people including active brothers, alumni, girlfriends, wives, school administrators, and parents gathered in the Main Building to join in a grand banquet ceremony. They gathered to celebrate the chapter's past, being Drexel's oldest fraternity, and having seen some of the university's greatest alumni pass through its ranks. And they also celebrated a prosperous future, as the associate chapter was finally granted a new charter from the national fraternity after almost two years of hard work. Just the night before, 40 associate members went through the Pi Kappa Phi ritual of initiation, offiically inducting them as brothers of this great fraternity.

    Speaches were given throughout the night, hosted by alumnus Mike Imms, with key note speakers that included Katie Peoples, directer of Fraternity and Sorority Life; David Ruth, Dean of Students; Steve Evans, Director of Alumni and Volunteer Services for Pi Kappa Phi; Mark E. Timmes, CEO of Pi Kappa Phi; Tony Noce, President of Alpha-Upsilon Alumni Corp; David M. White, National Chaplain; Keith Sheppard, Former National Chaplain/AU Alumnus; Dr. Richard J White, Chapter Adivser; Carlos S Ramirez, House Director; and Michael R. Noce, AU Chapter President.
